Edyta Sliwinska was born in Warsaw, Poland. She started to dance when she was 10 years old. Edyta became a successful ballroom dancer in Poland and achieved a world-class status representing Poland on International competitions all over the world. In addition to that she appeared in several Polish TV commercials and magazine ads. She moved to America in 2000 to pursue her dance career, after she met Alec Mazo at the ballroom dance competition in Blackpool, England. Edyta and Alec became a successful partnership ever since. They were four times US finalists and represented America on many international championships. In the summer 2005 Edyta appeared on the first season of Dancing With The Stars, one of the most popular shows on TV. Edyta is known for being the only professional dancer to appear on the first 10 seasons of “Dancing with the Stars”, partnered among others with Evander Holyfield, George Hamilton, Ashley Hamilton, Aiden Turner, Joey Lawrence, John Ratzenberger, Cameron Mathison, Jason Taylor, Jeffrey Ross and Lawrence Taylor. Edyta has been on every “Dancing with the Stars” tour and modeled for the fitness section of DWTS book. She was also featured on every DWTS poster since season 3. In addition to that  Edyta appeared in “Kay Jewelers” national commercial and guest starred in CBS hit series “CSI: NY”. Edyta choreographs all her performances and is known for her teaching skills, helping her celebrity partners always achieve their best. Edyta and her partner Alec produced an instructional DVD “Dancing like the Pros” and a fitness DVD “Fitness with the Pros”. Edyta also leads the DWTS instructional DVD that was released in January 2011.
